Eco Factor: Truck powered by a diesel-electric hybrid engine.
Trucks have always been the kings of the road, so any futuristic design of a truck needs to maintain that distinct image and class. Gabor Magyari, a design student at the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest, Hungary, has created what many would have wanted a couple of decades earlier. With massive fuel-eating engines, trucks were always in need of some green refinement for a better environment. The SunTruck, as Gabor calls it, is his vision of a futuristic, ecofriendly truck.

The SunTruck is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric engine. While running on diesel, the emphasis has been made on fuel efficiency and power at the same time. And while running on diesel, the truck generates electricity that is used to power onboard electronics and a lithium-ion battery pack. After dropping the load, the electric engine can be selected for a zero-emission ride. Electricity in this case is harnessed by solar cells mounted on a semitrailer.

The Dark Side:
Apart from high cost risks, we have no doubt in our minds that trucks such as the SunTruck will definitely rule the roads of the future.
