EcoFactor: A green electric plug-in vehicle unveiled by Chrysler that is all set to hit production in 2009.
Think of electric vehicles and Chrysler is the last name that comes to your mind. The USA-based manufacturers are more known for their over-indulgence in car crafting and are known to dish out some big monsters. But with their own financial status not so healthy, it seems they have woken up to the trend of green electric cars. The GEM Peapod unveiled by Chrysler is a “Green Eco Mobility” concept vehicle that is all set to enter production in a year’s time. The new green venture by Chrysler is an electric mini-car that is completely emission-free and sports a new look, with an interior with modern features and better spacing. The car also comes with a dock that supports an iPhone and iPod. While that has been announced, strangely no technical specifications have yet been made public by the company.
The Dark Side:
From the very first look, it seems that this GEM is headed toward failure. Chrysler and their consumers have never been too comfortable with “small car” concepts. The company is poor at making them and with so many other automobile giants queuing up with much cooler and cleaner EVs, this is highly unlikely to make any impact.
